Applying for the HCV waitlist is a multi-step process that involves interaction with Hammond Housing Authority. The process begins as follows below:

1. Applicant Completes Pre-Application with the Housing Agency
   Clicking on the link below will take you to the agency website where you will complete a pre-application when the waitlist is open:
   https://portal.hammondhousing.org 
2. Placement to Agency Wait List
   Applicants selected for the waitlist will be notified within 120 days of pre-application that they have been placed on the waitlist.  PLEASE NOTE (waitlist processing time may vary)
3. Waitlist Selection by Agency
   Applicants are selected from the waitlist and sent notification(s) to begin certification intake process.
4. Housing Agency Intake Review
   Eligibility will be determined on the application and document/ verification during the pre-application and certification intake process.  
5. Applicant notification of Documentation Submission or Eligibility
    Hammond Housing Authority notifies applicants of eligibility which may include but is not limited to submission of documentation, income, and criminal background results.
6. Final review
   Third party verifications will be required so it might take several days for completion by HCV site staff, including a background/criminal check. 
7. Applicant receives Briefing Notification
   Once the agency has confirmed final eligibility has been confirmed, applicant will receive notification about briefing instructions.
8. Voucher Issuance
